It was a sad morning for residents of Otuo Community in Owan East LGA of Edo State, when the news of one Ohiole Glory hit the air at the early hours of Monday 24th February 2020.
Information has it that she was allegedly murdered by some suspected Yahoo Boys, who shared same apartment with her at Ikhueran Quarters Iyeu Otuo.
It was allegedly gathered that she was lured into the room of the Yahoo Boys, who later killed her and removed some vital organs from her.
Luck ran out of the perpetrators of the dastardly act, when the news got to the public. Angry mob seized one of the alleged culprit, a native of Ugba Quarters who’s popularly called No Fuck Up after revealing names of his associates. He was dragged to the Otuo Divisional Police Headquarters, killed in the presence of helpless police officers, before burning him at the centre of the main road.
It was alleged that, same punishment was meted on a second culprit who was also involved in the crime. Reports also allege that there’s a third culprit who’s still at large.
Ultimately, few hours after the two culprits had been burnt by the angry mob at the premises of the police station, attempts were made to track down the third culprit.
The third culprit was eventually caught, and when he was interrogated by the angry mob, he confessed that they were sent by one female native doctor, an Igbira woman from Kogi State. She was supposed to use the human parts severed from the victim to perform a ritual for them.
The native doctor was trailed and was eventually caught by the angry mob. She and the third culprit were rounded up, killed and burnt same way the two other culprits had been treated.
With this gory event happening, it will be on record that it’s the second time Yahoo Boys would be involved in ritual killings in Otuo. The first one happened in 2019, few weeks after the 2019 General Elections which saw an Okada Rider being killed and some vital organs being removed from his lifeless body along Otuo-Ake road in Otuo.
Miss Ohiole Glory, until her painful death was a 17years old SSS3 student of Azama College Otuo who hails from Ikhueran Quarters, Iyeu Otuo. She was expected to write her WAEC and NECO exams later this year.
